Hello, we're Cindy and Greg, a chef + designer duo. We create recipes, cooking videos, and animations celebrating fruits and vegetables here at healthyfeels. However, that doesn't mean we only eat fruits and vegetables.
Every recipe has a cooking video as part of the Sound of Cooking series that shows each step at a slower and more realistic pace because that’s how I would teach a cooking class in-person.
Inspired by the film Eat Drink Man Woman, we wanted to highlight a sensory that is often overlooked in cooking. Just like visuals and smells, sounds can trigger strong connections to specific memories such as your parents or family cooking when you were growing up. The sounds and natural light are used to showcase the vibrant textures and colors of food.
We're hoping this will entice us all to make and eat more home-cooked meals together.
Along with the recipes we share, we also make animated stories for children and parents that celebrate different fruits and vegetables, diversity, and imagination. Greg does most of the design and animation, but many of our animations couldn’t have been completed without the help of other super talented artists. You can read more about why we make animations on our faq page under animations.
Hi, I'm Cindy!
A professional chef studying to become a Registered Dietitian, who also loves food videography and photography. With a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, I went from designing parts for unmanned helicopters and electric vehicles in California to
Nowadays, I'm still in a kitchen more than half of my waking hours developing recipes and working as a private chef for families. I have been cooking for families with young children for 6 years. In addition to my work on healthyfeels, I test recipes, teach cooking and nutrition education classes, and am working on finishing my master's degree in clinical nutrition.
Although most of my recipes are created with nutrition in mind, I believe health and well-being are much more than just the nutrients we take in. Cooking and enjoying food is about making personal connections to who we are and to the people in our lives.
Many of my recipes are vegetarian, vegan, or mostly plant-based since I love fresh fruits and vegetables and enjoy using creativity to produce mouth-watering plant-focused meals. Plus, shopping at farmers markets is one of my favorite activities!
Prior to becoming a private chef, some of the most memorable places I've cooked at include Haven's Kitchen, NYC and for silent meditation retreats at the Dharma Drum Retreat Center.
Mindful cooking is my personal form of meditation, which may also be why the cooking videos we create for HealthyFeels are at a slower pace with a focus on the senses. I love creating recipes that are often inspired by my Taiwanese roots and my time living in North Carolina, Georgia, New York City, and California.
